World Cup brings carnival-like colour to Moscow


Gary Cotterill catches up with fans in Moscow to see how they are enjoying the FIFA World Cup.

With the World Cup now in full swing, all eyes are on Russia’s capital city of Moscow which has been transformed for world football’s showpiece event.

There can only be one victorious nation and the winner of the 2018 World Cup will be crowned at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on July 15.

But as the countdown to next month’s final continues, football supporters from around the world have lit up Russia, with most fans travelling to or through Moscow – and they have helped make the city’s most famous plaza look more like Rainbow Square than Red Square!

We sent our intrepid reporter Gary Cotterill to Red Square to meet football fans from across the globe who are helping make this World Cup a carnival of football, full of colour and vibrancy.
