A look back to when Jeff Jarrett took on Chris Jericho in WCW in 1997
In the first of our new Flashback Friday series, we look back to the time Hall of Fame entrant Jeff Jarrett took on Chris Jericho – 21 years ago!
Jarrett was this week confirmed as the fourth entrant into the 2018 Hall of Fame class and will be inducted into the elite group at the annual pre-WrestleMania ceremony in New Orleans in April.
His career spans many decades and several promotions and he has faced off against just about everyone inside the squared circle.
We have dug into the archives to pull out one of Jarrett’s lesser-known matches from his time in World Championship Wrestling in 1997.
On this occasion, the alliteration fan took on Y2J, who at the time was an emerging talent with the company, with his reputation in North America growing with every passing match.
Jericho is not in the Hall of Fame but it is surely only a matter of time before one of the best of all time gets the nod from WWE.
Jarrett, though, will receive that recognition this spring, so sit back and enjoy one of his ‘hidden gem’ matches from more than two decades ago!
