Three more title matches were booked for WWE Fastlane on this week’s episode of SmackDown, while Baron Corbin scored a mental victory heading into the Fatal-5-Way WWE title match on March 11.

Shortly after suffering defeat in his one-on-one match with WWE Champion AJ Styles, Corbin picked his moment to strike, hitting both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens with the End of Days after the Yep! Movement had spoiled Styles’ celebrations.

It had been a much happier story for Owens earlier in the evening, after he cashed in on a timely-interference from Zayn to plant Dolph Ziggler with a super-kick and score a big win against his Fastlane opponent.

For the second week running, Jinder Mahal stood tall over Randy Orton and Bobby Roode, but he will not get a shot at Roode’s United States Championship at Fastlane. Overruling SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan, the blue brand’s Commissioner Shane McMahon instead granted Orton a one-on-one shot against Roode.

Ruby Riott also earned a title opportunity against SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte. Following wins over Ruby’s allies Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan in recent weeks, the champ was on the losing side in a six-woman tag team match, unable to save team-mate Becky Lynch from a vicious match-ending Riott Kick.

The New Day will challenge to become five-time WWE tag team champions after overcoming Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in a number one contenders match. Big E appeared down for the count after a Powerbomb-Bulldog, but Kofi Kingston distracted the referee long enough for Xavier Woods to plant Benjamin with a brutal knee to the face and punch The New Days’ ticket for a bout with The Usos at Fastlane.

The Bludgeon Brothers could be waiting for the winners of that clash after strengthening their case for a shot at the tag team belts. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper took out more local competition in emphatic fashion to put themselves firmly in the title picture.
