Watch as Deportivo goalkeeper Maksym Koval was shown a straight red on his debut after a reckless tackle on Eibar’s Joan Jordan.
It has not gone to plan for Clarence Seedorf at Deportivo La Coruna. The Dutchman is yet to taste victory since taking charge, with the men from Galicia without victory since the beginning of December.
Such form leaves them facing the real possibility of relegation, and fans must have feared the worst after Koval lost his composure to see red, 39 minutes into his debut, during Depor’s clash with Eibar on Saturday.
The 25 year-old stopper – on loan from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv – took a heavy touch when making an interception, before lunging into Jordan, sending him sprawling. The referee was left with no option but to brandish the red.
Depor, though, hung on for a vital point with 10 men, but remain in the bottom three in La Liga.
