Then, on Thursday, we had Rashid Khan and AB de Villiers producing magnificent takes to dismiss Colin de Grandhomme and England’s Alex Hales respectively in the clash between RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers spinner Rashid initially misjudged the flight of the ball as De Grandhomme launched towards him at deep midwicket but reacted late to pull off a superb catch with his right hand.
De Villiers possibly outdid the Afghanistan spinner with his catch, though – the South African unfurling what RCB skipper Virat Kohli later called “Spiderman stuff” to pluck the ball inches from the deep midwicket fence.
