Scott Quigg says he will end Oscar Valdez's unbeaten record on March 10 and become WBO world featherweight champion
Scott Quigg is “100 per cent” confident he will beat Oscar Valdez and become a two-weight world champion.
The former WBA ‘world’ super-bantamweight holder challenges WBO featherweight world champion out in Carson, California, on March 10, live on Sky Sports.
Quigg admits he will be the underdog against unbeaten Mexican, Valdez, but under the guidance of Freddie Roach, is ready to upset the odds.
“This is a fight that excites me,” he told Sky Sports News.
“These are the sort of fights I want to be involved in and with Oscar Valdez, I don’t think they come much bigger than that over here [America] and the featherweight division.
“Top Rank are trying to build him into the next star.
“He’s 23-0 with 19 knockouts and has not really put a foot wrong but these are the challenges I want and I, 100 per cent believe I will become world champion on March 10.”
