Wayne Riley suggested Tiger Woods had the wrong club on the 15th tee at the Honda Classic, and he was proved right as the ball found water!
Tiger Woods was in between clubs on the par-three 15th at the Honda Classic and, if he had Wayne Riley on the bag, he probably would not have found the water!
The Bear Trap at PGA National has proved an even more daunting challenge than usual this year, and Woods become one of many victims at the tricky 15th when his tee shot came up short of dry land.
Woods opted to hit a seven-iron at the 164-yard hole despite hitting into a stiff breeze, although he initially backed off the shot and discussed his options with caddie Joe LaCava.
But while the pair were having their mini-conference, our on-course commentator Radar insisted a six-iron should have been the preferred choice of club, giving Woods a better chance of finding dry land.
However, Woods stuck with his original club selection and it would turn out to be a costly error of judgement. And when his ball was barely halfway to its intended target, Radar already knew the result would be “wet”!
