Super League Grand Final to stay at Old Trafford

The Super League Grand Final will remain at Old Trafford for three more years after a new agreement was reached.

Castleford Tigers, Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC and St Helens are all bidding for a place in this year’s final, which will be live on Sky on October 7.

“We’re fast approaching the 20th final to be played at Old Trafford and each one has delivered great sporting drama and first-class entertainment,” said Super League chief executive Nigel Wood.

“Grand Final night at Old Trafford under lights is an iconic event that the sport should be proud of. It has been built from the foundation over 20 years to be an event worthy of the natural acclaim it rightfully achieves.

Manchester United Group managing director Richard Arnold was also pleased with the new agreement.

“The Super League Grand Final has been held at Old Trafford since its inception and together we have witnessed some truly magnificent games,” he said. “We look forward to more in the coming years.”

The Betfred Super League semi-finals take place this week live on Sky Sports with league leaders Castleford facing St Helens on Thursday while Leeds Rhinos play Hull FC on Friday.
