Wakefield’s giant forward Pauli Pauli has signed a new contract for 2019.
The 24-year-old former Newcastle forward, who is 6ft 4in and 19st, has made a big impression on Trinity in Super League this year after joining from NRL side Newcastle Knights.
Pauli has played in all but three of Wakefield’s 18 matches so far and coach Chris Chester is happy to have him for an additional season.
“It is great that Pauli has signed for a further year,” Chester said. “He has worked hard in training and his efforts have really shown over the past couple of months.
“I look forward to seeing him grow as a player over the next year.”
After signing the deal, Pauli said: “I am delighted, it is good that I can stay here at Wakefield and get another opportunity to play again next year and help the club progress.
“I don’t want to go home right now; I am enjoying my time here in England and at the Club right now.”
