ESSEX v NOTTS SCORECARD

Having been set 441 to win, Essex began the final day at Chelmsford on 88-4 and it soon got worse as Matt Milnes and Luke Fletcher dismissed Ravi Bopara and nightwatchman Jamie Porter within the first minutes of play.

Harry Gurney then bowled Simon Harmer and Adam Wheater in quick succession, Milnes (4-44) removed Matt Coles and Samit Patel (2-1) had Neil Wagner caught to seal the win before lunch, Essex all out for 139.

Ed Barnard ended with nine wickets in the match as Worcestershire claimed their first Championship victory of the season, beating Lancashire by 202 runs at New Road. WORCS v LANCASHIRE SCORECARD

The away side provided stubborn resistance in the morning session and, chasing 602, moved to within 250 of a most improbable win with five wickets in hands.

England opener Keaton Jennings (177) was holding the innings together but he was bowled by a delivery that kept low just before lunch and the last four wickets fell quickly after the interval with Barnard (4-95) mopping up the tail.
