Nico Rosberg and Paul Di Resta take an expert look at Max Verstappen’s crash during Practice Three of the Monaco GP
Max Verstappen crashed out of Practice Three at the Monaco GP after a potentially weekend-destroying error through the swimming pool chicane.
Though Verstappen finished second fastest behind team-mate Daniel Ricciardo in the session, Red Bull now face a race against time to get his car ready for a crucial qualifying, which is live on Sky Sports F1 and Sky One from 2pm.
Verstappen clipped the wall as he avoided a Renault through the high-speed section of the iconic street circuit, and then shunted into another barrier. It was an almost-identical shunt to his 2016 Monaco crash.
“That was a big, big setback,” said Sky F1’s Nico Rosberg. “What has it done to his confidence? It’s such a big blow.”
