Miami Dolphins agree three-year, $24m deal with ex-Chiefs WR Albert Wilson

The Miami Dolphins have agreed a three-year deal, $24m deal to sign wide receiver Albert Wilson, according to NFL Network.

Wilson will replace Jarvis Landry, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns last week, as the slot receiver in Adam Gase’s offence.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Dolphins released veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons after one disappointing season.

The move announced Tuesday had been expected. Timmons went AWOL on the eve of last year’s opener, was briefly suspended and played poorly when he returned.

He signed a $12m, two-year contract in 2017 after 10 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His departure clears $5.5m in cap space for Miami.

Miami is also expected to part ways with three-time All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Suh would count $22m in dead money for the Dolphins in 2018 if he is cut.
