All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Monday, January 29.
Roma have rejected a first offer from Liverpool for Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker, reports Il Tempo.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly seeking a new goalkeeper to usurp his current pair of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius and Alisson, 25, has been linked with the Anfield side.
However, according to Il Tempo, Liverpool have failed with their initial bid for the Brazilian.
Jurgen Klopp says he has no problem with Emre Can running down his Liverpool contract but insists the midfielder will not leave during the January transfer window.
Can’s contract with Liverpool runs out on June 30, meaning the 24-year-old is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside of the Premier League.
Klopp is adamant the Germany international will not leave Anfield before the end of the January transfer window even if that means Liverpool will lose the player on a free transfer at the end of the season.
“He’ll stay beyond the winter,” Klopp told DAZN. “Emre is still a young lad but he has developed into a great player and is very important for us.
“Sometimes a player just wants to sit out his contract. That’s not cool for the club, but there are moments in which you have to accept it. And as long as the player behaves like Emre does, then I have absolutely nothing to complain about. He gives everything he has and identifies with the club.”
Finally, Monaco are willing to listen to offers for Keita Balde, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 22-year-old, who is reportedly attracting the interest of Liverpool and Arsenal, joined the Ligue 1 side from Lazio last summer for £30m, but sporting director Michael Emenalo is thought to be ready to cash in on the Senegal international.
