Leeds United have announced details of the consultation period on a design for their new centenary club badge.
The design originally unveiled by the club last week, featuring a fan touching their right hand to their heart – the so-called ‘Leeds salute’ – led to an angry response from many supporters.
An online petition aimed at making the club rethink the badge design soon passed the 60,000 mark, leading to a change of mind from United’s hierarchy, who have now confirmed a new, fan-led system has been put in place.
“Following on from last week’s commitment to extend consultation with our supporters on the proposed crest change, we are pleased to announce further details,” read an official club statement.
