Julio Jones rejects claims he wants new Falcons contract and is unhappy in Atlanta

Julio Jones has rejected claims his decision to skip organised team activities means he is unhappy at the Atlanta Falcons.

Jones was reacting to a story saying he was looking for a reworked contract with the Falcons, and made it clear that there was no dissatisfaction on his behalf over his current position.

The 29-year-old wide receiver has played his entire NFL career in Atlanta, catching 585 regular season passes for 9,054 yards and 43 touchdowns in seven seasons.

“It’s not even about that,” Jones said. “Everyone wants a story right now. There’s no story to be told. I’m just working on getting myself better.

“I’m just working on myself right now. That’s all that is. There’s no bad blood between me and the team or anything like that.

“Everybody on the outside trying to look in and trying to destroy what we built there.

“I’m not going nowhere. I’ll be there. I love the team. I love the organisation. I love everybody there. I’m good.”
