Josh Windass signs extended Rangers contract until 2021

Rangers forward Josh Windass has signed a one-year extension to his contract to commit his future to the club until the summer of 2021.

Windass becomes the second player this week to sign a new contract after James Tavernier also agreed to an extended deal at Ibrox.

The 24-year-old joined Gers from Accrington in July 2016, having signed a pre-contract agreement in January of the same year.

Windass has scored 12 goals in 30 appearances for Rangers this season and has featured in every game since Graeme Murty took over from Pedro Caixinha as manager in October.

Rangers survived an early scare against Ayr United to cruise into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals with a thumping 6-1 win at Somerset Park.

He also scored his first hat-trick for the Light Blues in last month’s 3-0 victory at Fraserburgh in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup and followed that with two more goals in the 6-1 win at Ayr in the following round.
