Jack Singleton called up as cover for England’s second and third Tests against South Africa

Worcester Warriors hooker Jack Singleton has been called up by England as extra cover for Luke Cowan-Dickie.

The uncapped 22-year-old has been included as a precaution after Cowan-Dickie experienced hamstring tightness during the first Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.

He will arrive at the squad’s base north of Durban on Monday.

England defence coach Paul Gustard said: “We’ve only got two hookers in camp so we have to be careful. Luke hasn’t been ruled out of Saturday yet.”

South Africa recovered from 24-3 down to beat England 42-39 in a thrilling match at Ellis Park on Saturday in what was a fifth straight defeat for Eddie Jones’ team.
