Brighton defender Gaetan Bong has signed a contract extension with the club until 2019.
Bong, 29, joined the Seagulls from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015 and has since made 52 league appearances since, with 15 of those this season in the Premier League.
Bong helped Brighton to third and second-placed finishes in the Championship and has impressed manager Chris Hughton sufficiently in the top flight to earn himself a new deal.
Highlights: Brighton 4-1 Swansea
Hughton told Brighton’s official wesbite: “I am delighted for Gaetan. He is a key member of the squad, and he has worked really hard to earn this new contract with the club.
“He has proved himself to be a consistent performer for us in the Premier League so far this season, and acquitted himself really well stepping up from the Championship.”
Bong, who won the Greek league title in 2014 with Olympiakos, has made 13 appearances for the Cameroon national team.
