Contrary to reports, Mauricio Pochettino is still being considered as the next Real Madrid boss, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is now in the frame as well. (Marca)

Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to battle it out to sign Brazilian winger Rodrygo. The 17-year-old plays for Santos, Neymar’s old club, and reportedly has a release clause of €50m. (Marca)

Massimiliano Allegri has turned down an offer to manage Real Madrid. This adds the Champions League winners to Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG on the list of clubs he has turned down in recent times to stay at Juventus. (Cadena SER)

France

Rumours that Laurent Blanc will be the next Chelsea manager are strengthening, with the story first reported by France Football appearing on L’Équipe’s front page. (L’Équipe)

Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia is wanted by Newcastle. The Magpies approached his club, Lille, about the possibility of signing the 21-year-old but the French side indicated that he’s not for sale. (Le 10 Sport)

Manchester United have entered the race to sign 22-year-old Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet. The Barcelona transfer target reportedly has a £30.7m release clause in his contract (L’Équipe)

Italy

A new bid for Jorginho will be made by Manchester City, after an initial offer of €45m was turned down. City are now offering €48m, with €2m of add-ons, but the Italian club want €50m up-front. (Sky Italia)

Inter have joined Napoli in the race to sign Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa. The 20-year-old is also a Juventus transfer target, but Inter need to see what their Financial Fair Play obligations are before making a bid which could be in the region of €60m. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Germany

Bernd Leno is free to leave Bayer Leverkusen, according to sporting director Rudi Voller, but only on the club’s terms. The goalkeeper is a target for Napoli, with Leno now free to go after the arrival of Lukas Hradecky. (Bild)

Arsenal are set to follow their signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner with confirmation of Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis, who is due to undergo a medical at the club this week. (Kicker)
