Paceman Liam Plunkett will play no further part on England’s tour of New Zealand after the recurrence of a hamstring strain.
Plunkett suffered a grade one tear in his left hamstring midway through last month’s one-day international series against Australia and aggravated the problem on his return to action in Tuesday’s Twenty20 defeat against the Black Caps.
He has now been ruled out of Sunday’s fixture in Hamilton as well as the five subsequent ODIs, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced.
A replacement will be announced in the coming days.
