Dylan McGeouch in Sunderland talks

Scotland international Dylan McGeouch has been in talks with Sunderland ahead of a potential move to the Stadium of Light.

The midfielder, who will be a free agent when his Hibernian contract expires at the end of the month, has also had interest from Blackburn, QPR and Aberdeen.

McGeouch initially joined Hibs on loan for the 2014/15 season, before making the move permanent in 2015. He made 121 appearances for the club and scored four times, while also winning the Scottish Cup in 2016. Sky Sports News understands that Hibs still retain hope of holding onto McGeough and have offered him training facilities at the club.

The 25-year-old won his first call-up to the Scotland squad earlier this year and won two caps in May.

Sunderland also held talks with strikers Lyle Taylor and Chris Maguire earlier this week, while manager Jack Ross hopes to sign Grant Leadbitter from Middlesbrough on a permanent basis.
