David Prutton’s Sky Bet EFL play-off final predictions

David Prutton returns with his final predictions of the season ahead of the Sky Bet EFL play-off finals.

But who is he tipping for Wembley glory? Read on to find out…

Sky Bet Championship: Aston Villa v Fulham, Saturday 5pm

This should be a fascinating encounter at Wembley. Fulham play the better football but they are coming against a side in Aston Villa who will be set up well to contain them.

There are certainly similarities between this Villa and the Hull side that Steve Bruce got promoted two years ago, and you would fancy him to have the nous to claim a record fifth promotion to the top flight.

It will all come down to who can manage the emotion of the day, get their noses in front and then see it out. Both sides will look to exploit each other’s weaknesses and Villa will place huge emphasis on getting balls into the box and set-pieces.

These games are so often separated by the odd goal. You would not back against John Terry, with all his Wembley experience, to pop up with a header from a corner or a free-kick to win it.

Prutton predicts: Aston Villa to win 1-0 and John Terry to score (195/1 with Sky Bet)

Aston Villa midfielder Robert Snodgrass sat down with David Prutton ahead of the Sky Bet Championship play-off final against Fulham Sky Bet League One: Rotherham v Shrewsbury, Sunday 3pm

You have to applaud what Shrewsbury have done this season. This time last year they were celebrating staying up and now they are just 90 minutes away from promotion to the Championship.

Rotherham have also had a great season as they look to bounce back from that dreadful relegation last year, they were also very effective against Scunthorpe in the semi-finals and will be feeling confident heading to Wembley.

Shrewsbury showed their quality over the semi-finals but also proved they can control their opposition and defend resolutely. They are so dangerous on the counter-attack as well. Paul Hurst and Paul Warne know each well so there will be no secrets in either dugout.

The lack of pressure Shrewsbury will feel against a side looking to bounce back should stand them in good stead. They’= have defied the odds all season and I think they’ll do that one more time.

Prutton predicts: Shrewsbury to win 2-1 and Shaun Whalley to score first (60/1 with Sky Bet)

We take a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the Championship play-off finals. Sky Bet League Two: Coventry v Exeter, Monday 3pm

These two sides had very different Wembley experiences last season. While Coventry enjoyed success in the Checkatrade Trophy final, Exeter suffered the misery of play-off final defeat. Full credit to Paul Tisdale and Co, though, they have bounced back well to give themselves a second bite of the cherry.

There are questions marks over Tisdale’s future, but he looked completely focused after their win over Lincoln and there won’t be a thought in his head about a single thing beyond Monday. Mark Robins, meanwhile, cares so much about getting Coventry back to where they belong and his sheer will has done a lot to drive that club to this position.

In attack, Jayden Stockley has been in fantastic form in front of goal for Exeter this season, but Coventry have their own big threat in Marc McNulty, who was ruthless over two legs against Notts County.

This is a tough one to call between two sides who will feel they should be playing at a higher level. Both sides try to play on the floor and they might cancel each other out a little bit. I do have a feeling that Coventry, with their fans out in force, will nick this one.

Prutton predicts: Coventry to win 1-0 with Marc McNulty to score (16/1 with Sky Bet)
