Oxford United’s new owner Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth says Craig Bellamy is one of four candidates they are speaking to about the vacant manager’s job.
Former Wales striker Bellamy is currently part of Neil Warnock’s backroom staff at Cardiff City.
Derek Fazackerley has been in temporary charge since Pep Clotet was sacked in January and has overseen one victory and one draw in the five Sky Bet League One games he has led the team for.
Thanakarnjanasuth – known as ‘Tiger’ – said he hopes to appoint someone to the role on a permanent basis as soon as possible, when speaking at a news conference called to officially announce him as the club’s new chairman.
