Britain’s Cameron Norrie recorded the biggest win of his career as he upset second seed John Isner to reach the semi-finals of the Lyon Open on Thursday.
Norrie, 102nd in the world, beat No 10 Isner 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 to reach the last four of the clay-court event and will play Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin or Frenchman Gilles Simon for a place in Saturday’s final.
The 22-year-old has been on the crest of a wave since beating Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut during Great Britain’s Davis Cup clash in February.
He won his first ATP doubles title when he partnered Kyle Edmund in Estoril earlier this month and has now landed his first win against a top 10 opponent in Isner.
Austrian top seed Dominic Thiem, who faces Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez in his quarter-final later on Thursday afternoon, is the only seeded player left in the draw.
