Birmingham’s Paul Robinson to retire at end of the season

Veteran defender Paul Robinson has announced he is retiring at the end of the season at the age of 39.

After a 22-year career spanning spells at Watford, West Brom, Bolton, Leeds and current club Birmingham City, Robinson has announced he will starting a “new exciting chapter”.

Robinson has made 763 senior appearances and scored 18 goals playing in both the Premier League and Championship.

On social media he said: “I have loved wearing every shirt with pride, I have played my heart out every time and I’ve achieved from a young age my dream.

“At the end of the season it will be goodbye to playing but the start of a new exciting chapter.”
