Alistair Price and Ryan Wilson discuss Glasgow Warriors’ new head coach Dave Rennie and bromances

European clashes, guitar skills and belief are all on the agenda

As Glasgow Warriors prepare to meet familiar foes Leinster this weekend on the European stage, Alistair Price and Ryan Wilson spoke to Laura-Jane Jones.

The duo lifted the lid on the team’s constant quest for perfection and how new head coach Dave Rennie approaches his leadership.

“He’s a bit of both [good cop and bad cop]. He’ll give you a clip around the ear when you need it,” said club captain Wilson.

“I said it a few weeks ago; we’re our harshest critics ourselves. We really want to make sure that we’re doing everything at our best and we’re perfectionists.

“He said after one of our games that he’s never seen such a bunch of players that are such perfectionists.”

An opening European Rugby Champions Cup loss irked, and back home the squad can’t wait to try and prove just how much of a fortress Scotstoun Stadium is when they face Leinster on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Action from 12.30pm.

After talking all things rugby related, including reminiscing on the side’s historic 43-0 victory over Leicester last season, the pair revealed Rennie’s skills on the guitar, the go-to tunes and why he’s ‘just a good bloke.’

Finally Price, one half of a famous Warriors’ bromance with Finn Russell, may just have got himself in a spot of bother with the fly-half!
