Milwaukee residents camp out for Black Friday beer

Why wait in line for deals when you can get one-of-a-kind Black Friday beers?

While most Americans out shopping on Black Friday wait in lines for the season’s hottest gifts, Milwaukee residents lined up overnight to taste one local brewery’s limited-edition beer.

Lakefront Brewery created two Black Friday-specific beers to be served up starting at 8 a.m. local time on the biggest holiday shopping event of the year.

One craft beer lover, Chris Drez, who has enjoyed the specialty Black Friday brew in past years, shared a picture of the early morning line as he awaited entry to the brewery.

The brewery is offering its 2017 Black Friday Imperial Stout and a Black Friday Vintage Reserve.

Both beers are aged in bourbon barrels, but the vintage reserve is blended from barrels of 2014, 2015 and 2016 Black Friday imperial stouts.

Michael Stodola, the brewery’s brand manager, shared a sneak peek of the Black Friday Vintage Reserve bottles featuring sterling silver wax and a silver turkey skeleton on the face of the bottle.

The 2017 Black Friday beer bottles are limited to three per customer and the vintage reserve is limited to just one per person, all while supplies last, according to the brewery’s site.
